Plaid

Let's talk about a fall classic, plaid. I've always liked plaid print but sometimes I feel like a lumberjack in it. So this season I've decided to play with the print and make it my own. Instead of wearing this plaid button up by itself I paired it with a graphic tee. Mixing plaid and leopard print and adding the red lip dressed up the outfit too.

It was a little chilly the evening I wore this but I've also worn this plaid top around my waist just to add something to an outfit and it works great if you want to dress for fall but the weather isn't working in your favor. Thanks for reading!

Fall Accessories under $50

Fall is officially here starting tomorrow, which means time for a change! The easiest way to change up your wardrobe for a new season is with accessories. Accessories don't have to be expensive and with the money saved you can invest in other big purchase items for fall, such as a new coat or jeans.  I've rounded up my favorite fall necessitates for under $50 dollars. Happy shopping and thanks for reading!

Express
Blanket scarves: They're back for another season! These over sized scarves were very popular last year and they aren't going anywhere. Many styles sell out quickly so make sure to get yours soon!
Forever 21
Hats: I loved hats in the summer and I love them even more in the fall. They can make a simple sweater and jean outfit more fun and hide a bad hair day. Win.
Old Navy
Belts:  This is an accessory I need to stock up on. I especially love the versatility of a leopard print belt. You could pair this with an all black outfit or mix and match with a stripe top. This belt is only $15 bucks so it won't break the bank either.
Sephora
Red lips: Not really an accessory but a good red lip stick is a must for fall and winter. I recently tried Kat Von D's liquid  lipsticks and I'm obsessed.
ASOS
Satchels:  Cross body purses are great for any season but the satchel style is on trend this fall. I love the stud details on this bag. It also comes in black but the pink is an unexpected color for fall which would looked great paired with gray or navy.

Canada

This past weekend Kevin and I headed to Montreal for a wedding. I intended on taking outfit pictures while I was there but the weather didn't want to cooperate (it rained almost all weekend). So I'm going to a do a recap of of some places we ate at, where we stayed, and mention again about another wonderful experience with Rent the Runway. Thanks for reading!

Location/Hotel:We stayed in Old Montreal at Hotel Nelligan (which was also where the wedding reception was at). The hotel was the perfect location and beautiful with exposed brick walls in the rooms. We walked to most shops and restaurants (even in the rain), only taking a taxi once and to and from the airport. I loved everything about Old Montreal, as you can tell from the pictures the buildings are magnificent.

Food: Ah the food. Besides being one of the most fashionable cities I've ever been to Montreal did not disappoint in the food area either. There are cafes and coffee shops on every corner, all of them equally charming and adorable. My personal favorite was a sandwich shop called Olive & Gourmando. Their grilled cheese sandwich was to die for. I also had the best corn of my life from Grumman 78.

Dress:  Everyone in Montreal dressed extremely well (must be a French thing because everyone looked so chic) so this dress made me fit right in. I knew I wanted a long dress and was leaning towards black so that helped narrow my search on their site. I rented this dress for 8 days since we were gone longer than a weekend. There is an additional charge for this. My biggest concern for this dress was the length so as I was reading the reviews I focused on my height (5'3-5'4). I originally was going to order the petite size for the length but after reading I decided to order the regular. I am so glad I did, the length was perfect with heels. So when in doubt read the reviews!

Last of Summer

Labor Day signals summer is officially coming to an end. While I'll miss it I love fall and everything that it brings with it, including fashion. The silhouette of this dress isn't one I wear just for summer, I love a good shift dress for any season. This style seems to flatter everyone and it can be dressed up and dressed down easily. I'm  on the hunt for one with long sleeves and jeweled tone.

This weekend I'm off to Canada for a wedding and the weather looks like is going to be perfect to test out some of my fall favorites. Thanks for reading!

Boots under $50

Nothing says fall like a new pair of boots. There are so many different styles to choose from,  flat tall boots, stiletto ankle booties, and so much more. For this post I'm focusing on mid or ankle boots with a small heel. I love flat boots but being on the short side I like my boots to have some height.

The best part of this post is all the boots below are under $50 dollars! While  investing in a good pair is smart what girl can only have one pair of boots?? (definitely not me)

Thanks for reading!

Target
Lace up: I love the combat boot trend that's been here for a few seasons now. Add a small heel and you have a great causal boot.
Target
Olive: This color is huge for fall.  I want all the things in olive. PS I bought these in the taupe and now I want them in this color too!
Forever 21
Metal:  Metal accents are having a moment especially on shoes. This pair is steal for 35 bucks!
Lulu's
Fringe: Still going strong is the fringe trend. I love the color of this pair as well.

H&M
Classic: This list wouldn't be completed without a classic pair of black ankle boots. These will go with everything, jeans to dresses.
